Summer Shawl in silk & linen
This is a Birdseye Twill which I wove in silk/merino with linen/cotton on a rigid heddle loom with 3 heddles.. Photographed before the ends were knotted and tied in. SOLD (via the secure WordPress payments & donations system).

Renegade Shawl
This is a heavy Navajo-style pink and blue Birdseye Twill in cotton and wool, and it didn’t turn out quite as expected, so it has a special random quality…. This piece is now sold

Alkebulan
A lacy shawl in soft Shetland yarn, using deflected double weave technique on a rigid heddle loom. The strong colours and patterns are reminiscent of Africa, hence the name.

Wrap up Warm
The cold is beginning to bite. Just the sort of time when you might need a warm yellow and grey Houndstooth patterned shawl, shot with red and natural hand spun yarn…and maybe a little pale olive too.
-
Pinwheel Variations
Shetland weaving yarn… Pinwheel pattern… After cutting the cloth off the loom, the next process is called wet-finishing, when the yarn blooms and fulls out. That’s probably why it’s called Fulling. The cloth becomes fluffier and softer, and all the fibres ‘knit’ together.

Pibiones
A new 100% cotton cloth on the loom is inspired by the Pibiones weaves of Sardinia- but it’s slightly different. £350. To purchase please use button below.

Houndstooth Pink & Black
Can you spot one or two lines of white hand spun Suffolk wool in this Houndstooth pattern? No shawl is complete without hand spun, in my opinion… Fine pink cotton and black wool make for a supple summer shawl.

Yellow and Green Log Cabin
I couldn’t resist this incredible heavy soft merino yarn in yellow and green. I added a little hand spun blue, cream and red plus soft brown shetland.
-
A soft green mohair shawl
The warp was a fine white merino by Zegna Baruffa in Italy, the weft a fine green mohair yarn, and it was woven in a simple plain-weave with a little border shot with different colours.

Log Cabin Runner
this was a commission for a table runner, hand woven in variations of Log Cabin pattern, in fine wool and cotton.
